Search the DistroWatch database for distributions using a particular package. If you are looking for a distribution with the latest kernel, select "linux" from the drop-down box below and type the version number into the text box next to it. Please note that GNOME is listed as "libgnome", KDE as "kdebase" and Apache 2.0.x as "httpd". As for versioning, try to be as close to official version numbers as possible: as an example, for libgnome you should type 2.8.0 (not 2.8) and for kdebase 3.3.0 (not 3.3). This section allows you to search for a particular distribution based on certain criteria. Just select the criteria from the drop-down and check boxes below and hit the refresh button to get a list of known distributions that match your choice.
The following distributions match your criteria:
1. Gibraltar Firewall Gibraltar is a Debian GNU/Linux-based firewall package which is bootable directly from CD-ROM, so hard disk installation is not necessary. The configuration data is optionally stored on hard disk, floppy disk or an USB storage device. Gibraltar was specifically developed for small-sized to medium-enterprises and fulfils all demands for an up-to-date firewall package. In times where the threats of viruses, worms, trojan horses or hackers are increasing rapidly, Gibraltar offers you an extensive protection of your internet connection. Gibraltar works with every sort of internet-connection. Whether there you are using a permanent cable, DSL or dial-up connection, Gibraltar takes care that your internet-connection is safe. Besides the commercial release of Gibraltar, there is as well a freely available release.
2. grml grml is a bootable CD (live CD) based on Knoppix and Debian. grml includes a collection of GNU/Linux software especially for users of text tools and system administrators. grml provides automatic hardware detection. You can use grml as a rescue system, for analysing systems/networks, or as a working environment. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Due to on-the-fly decompression, grml includes about 2GB of software and documentation on the CD.
3. PLoP Linux PLoP Linux is a small distribution that can boot from CD, DVD, USB flash drive (UFD), USB hard disk or from network with PXE. It is designed to rescue data from a damaged system, backup and restore operating systems, automate tasks and more.
4. ROCK Linux ROCK is a distribution build kit, or in other words, a software development toolkit for building OS solutions. You can configure your personal build of ROCK and easily build your own distribution directly from source code. Most of the ROCK Linux development is done on ix86 hardware, But ROCK Linux also supports the Alpha AXP, PowerPC, Sparc32/Sparc64 and MIPS architectures.
5. Server Optimized Linux SoL (Server optimized Linux) is a Linux distribution completely independent from other Linux distributions. It was built from the original source packages and is optimised for heavy-duty server work. It contains all common server applications, and features XML boot and script technology that makes it easy to configure and make the server work.

The advanced search form allows you to fine tune your search criteria by including multiple items in your search. Once completed, it will also allow you to display the result either as a list of all matching distributions with their descriptions, or in a sorted tabular format.
