After nearly 17 years this O/S is still not bootable on any PC or laptop I own. Is this a real project? Cmon, the worst FreeBSD or Linux distro is better. They are not progressing they're running in place.
Installed this on an old laptop just to check it out, everything went well as far as I could tell and it installed without a hitch. Then I booted it up and was immediately greeted by a BSOD. Truly this is the windows experience linux users have been waiting for for decades.
I kid of course, and I do realize that this is still in the alpha phase, but the BSOD really did occur and as it stands I can't say I would recommend ReactOS to anyone. It's a good idea, and if it ever gets to working even decently well enough I'll probably keep an install handy, but given how this little project seems to be slow going (The project is going on two decades now) I have no idea when it will reach that point.
Os is slowly improving in the right direction, can;t wait till its complete. I like where its at right now though the compatibility for windows programs and the stability increases day by day. couldn't give it a 10 only because its not complete and is taking a while to do so. Its still looks promising though.
As another user said, it wouldn't boot, and gave me the blue screen of death. I thought it was a funny hoax because it's based on Windows. I tried every mode on the live CD but continued to have a fatal error. Dell Inspiron 530.
