NEW • Distribution Release: siduction 12.2.0 |

Ferdinand Thommes has announced the final release of siduction 12.2.0, a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's unstable branch and offering four separate editions with KDE, LXDE, Razor-qt and Xfce desktops: "We are very happy to present to you the final release of siduction 2012.2 - Riders on the Storm. Siduction is a full live distribution with an integrated installer, based on Debian's unstable branch, and we try to release snapshots quarterly. The released images are a snapshot of Debian unstable from 2012-12-09. They are enhanced with some useful packages and scripts, our own installer and a custom-patched version of the Linux kernel 3.6.9, accompanied by X.Org Server 1.12.4." | The siduction distribution is a desktop-oriented operating system and live medium based on the "unstable" branch of Debian GNU/Linux. Forked from aptosid in late 2011, siduction offers three separate live media with KDE, LXDE and Xfce desktops. The project also promises regular releases, an open development model, and friendly relationship with its developer and user community.

Ferdinand Thommes has announced the availability of the second release candidate for siduction 12.2.0, a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's unstable branch and featuring four desktop environments - KDE, LXDE, Razor-qt and Xfce: "We are happy to present to you the second release candidate of siduction 2012.2. Siduction is a distribution based on Debian's unstable branch and we try to release snapshots quarterly. Please report any bugs you find in this RC to our forum or Chili. We have fixed a number of bugs that turned up in RC1: the bluewater manual is now available in Romanian; fw-detect works again as expected for installing non-free firmware; creation of sources.list during the building of the images got an overhaul; new upstream for wbar, wbar-config added; added correct firmware-link for AR7010+AR9287 devices to fw-detect...." Ferdinand Thommes has announced the availability of the first release candidate for siduction 12.2.0, a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's unstable branch and featuring four desktop environments - KDE, LXDE, Razor-qt and Xfce: "We are happy to present the first release candidate of siduction 2012.2 - 'Riders on the Storm'. Siduction 2012.2 ships with four desktop environments: KDE, Xfce, LXDE and Razor-qt, all in 32-bit and 64-bit variants. Razor-qt is the latest flavour that joins our regular release cycle after seeing a development release earlier this year. The released images are a snapshot of Debian unstable from 2012-11-19. As the freeze for Debian 7 will still last some months, we take the opportunity to update and consolidate our package base with this new release." Ferdinand Thommes has announced the release of siduction 12.1.1, a minor update of the project's 12.1 version released a month ago, based on Debian's unstable branch: "Today we released the first fix release of siduction 2012.1 'Desperado', called 2012.1.1 'Desperado Reloaded'. Besides small enhancements the main reason for this fix release was to ship the full set of KDE SC 4.8.4. This version is shipped with three desktop environments - KDE SC, Xfce and LXDE, all in 32-bit and 64-bit variants. The released images are a snapshot of Debian 'Unstable' from 2012-06-24. They are enhanced with some useful packages and scripts, our own installer and a custom-patched version of the linux-kernel 3.4.4, accompanied by X.Org Server 1.12.1." Ferdinand Thommes has announced the release of siduction 11.1, a desktop-oriented distribution and live CD/DVD based on Debian's "unstable" branch, recently forked from aptosid: "We are excited to present to you, after last week's release candidate, the first final release of siduction, a new distribution based on our great mother Debian's 'Unstable' branch and forked from aptosid. This first release ships three desktop environments - KDE SC, Xfce and LXDE, all three in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. The released images represent a snapshot of Debian 'Sid' from 2011-12-30, improved with a few useful packages and scripts, an installer, and our own, patched version of kernel 3.1-6 and X.Org server 1.11.2.902." The distribution comes in the form of three separate live CD/DVD images (for i386 and x86_64 architectures) with KDE, LXDE or Xfce desktops. From the release notes: "We are excited to present to you the first release candidate of siduction, a new distribution based on our great mother Debian's 'unstable' branch and forked from aptosid. As the logo suggests, this is a community approach. Filled with life, that means for the community as well as with and from the community."
