NEW • Distribution Release: Clonezilla Live 1.2.12-37 |

Steven Shiau has announced that a new stable release of Clonezilla Live, a specialist Debian-based live CD designed for cloning disks, has been released: "This release of Clonezilla Live (1.2.12-37) includes major enhancements and major bug fixes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'Sid' repository as of 2012-03-25; Linux kernel was updated to 3.2.12; Partclone-utils was updated to 0.1.3; Gdisk was updated to 0.8.2; the image of a partition saved by dd is no longer treated as a broken one in ocs-chkimg; GRUB on ext4 warning will be shown again if GRUB is not run successfully; an option was added to start over while keeping the mounted image repository; an option -fsck-src-part-y was added so that fsck can be run automatically when saving and image...." | Clonezilla Live is a Debian-based live CD containing Clonezilla, a partition and disk cloning software similar to Norton Ghost. It saves and restores only used blocks in hard drive. With Clonezilla, one can clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.

This release of Clonezilla Live includes minor enhancements and bug fixes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system has been upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'Sid' repository as of 2013-03-14); Partclone has been updated to 0.2.59; Clonezilla is now able to image MINIX; the keyutils program has been added; the grub-install command is no longer run for grub 1 on an ext4 file system when grub-install is from Debian, this prevents a potential indefinite hang; a prompt about skipping re-installing grub 1 in ocs-functions has been improved...." This release includes major enhancements and bug fixes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'Sid' repository as of 2013-02-26; Linux kernel was updated to 3.2.39; multipath devices are now supported natively; the blkdev.list info file was added in the image directory; Xen disk was added as a supported device; the Partclone package was updated to 0.2.58, an issue with imaging JFS partitions larger than 50 GB was fixed; added '-m 1024' option to Partclone, this should increase the imaging efficiency; the udisks package was added the packages list...." Enhancements and changes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'sid' repository as of 2012-12-17; Linux kernel was updated to 3.2.35; module floppy was listed in the blacklist, the floppy is normally useless but if it exists, it might cause the disk detection delay, if floppy is required, a user still can run 'modprobe floppy' to load it; Catalan language was added and language files were updated. Bug fixes: force to run command 'partprobe' after local disk is inserted in prep-ocsroot; to avoid a GRUB 1 on ext4 issue, running the grub-install from the restored OS should be tried first...."
