Development Release: Yoper Linux 2009 Beta 1 |

Juergen Trapp has announced the availability of the first beta build of Yoper Linux 2009, an independent desktop distribution and live CD with KDE 4 and RPM package management system: "Juergen Trapp and Tobias Gerschner announced today the availability of the first beta release of Yoper Linux 2009, code name 'Dresden', an i686 Linux distribution optimized for simple desktop use. This is one step closer to a simple yet powerful Linux desktop for the enthusiastic Linux user, which just works, but still leaves you in control. This release ships with Linux kernel 2.6.31, X.Org 7.5, KDE 4.3.2, Firefox 3.5.3 and a vast range of other cutting-edge desktop packages. The focus of this release has been on the KDE desktop environment which has received most of the attention.
