Development Release: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 Beta |
| Red Hat has announced the availability of the beta release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.4: "Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the beta release of 5.4 (Linux kernel 2.6.18-155.el5) for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 family of products. This beta includes the following improvements: full support for the KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) hypervisor; Power Systems LPAR enablement; new SAP resources agents for SAP instance and SAP database; virtual machine (vm.sh) resource agent now uses libvirt; new fencing agent for Cisco MDS SAN switches and IBM LPAR instances via HMC; updated ALSA audio infrastructure; improvements for docking and undocking with CD-ROM in dock; updates to i810, Intel, mga, ATI, and nv drivers; FUSE is fully supported...."
