Development Release: antiX MEPIS 8.2 Test 1 |
| MEPIS has announced the availability of the first test release of antiX MEPIS 8.2, a lightweight edition of MEPIS Linux designed for older computers: "The antiX-team is proud to announce that an updated antiX MEPIS 8.2 public test 1 is available at MEPIS mirrors. Public test 1 comes with the latest upgrades from MEPIS and Debian Testing, including X.Org Server 1.6, 2.6.27 MEPIS kernel, Iceweasel 3.0.11, AbiWord 2.6.8, Pidgin 2.5 and slightly adapted MEPIS tools for better use in antiX. Localisation is much improved, 10 languages are fully supported out of the box. Language chosen at live CD boot will carry over to install. Boot time should be faster, particularly if the 'Faster' option is chosen at boot menu. There are major changes in antiX control centre design." Here is the full release announcement.
