Development Release: FreeNAS 0.7 RC1 |
| Volker Theile has announced the availability of the first release candidate for FreeNAS 0.7, a FreeBSD-based operating system providing free Network-Attached Storage (NAS) services: "Today I am proud to announce the release of the first release candidate of version 0.7. It took a really long time to make this version as it is now, but i think it was worth the wait. Majors changes: upgrade to FreeBSD 7.2; include ZFS support; upgrade iSCSI initiator to 2.1.1; replace iSCSI target with istgt; add WOL patch for NVIDIA (nfe) and 3Com (xl); re-factor 'Diagnostics Log' WebGUI; add kernel patches to get ARTiGO A2000 hardware working; upgrade Transmission to 1.61; add 'iperf', a tool to measure maximum TCP and UDP bandwidth...."
