Development Release: ClarkConnect 5.0 RC1 |
| Point Clark Networks has announced the availability of first release candidate for ClarkConnect 5.0, a specialist firewall and gateway distribution based on CentOS: "ClarkConnect 5.0 release candidate 1 is now available. What's new? For new installations, ClarkConnect 5.0 is close to final-release quality. There are a number of known issues that need to be addressed; notably, the LDAP/Samba initialization is still fragile. There are literally a couple of dozen steps performed to initialize LDAP/Samba and ClarkConnect needs to handle the scenarios where any of the steps fail. We are not quite there yet! For upgrades, this release should be considered beta quality and not as thoroughly tested. Known issues: Samba/LDAP initialization is fragile; starting the CUPS print server for the first time will hang Webconfig; remote backup is not working (the remote side is a work in progress)."
