Development Release: sidux 2008-04 Preview 1 |
| Stefan Lippers-Hollmann has announced the availability of the first pre-release of sidux 2008-04, a distribution and live CD based on Debian's unstable branch: "After some infrastructural changes. sidux 2008-04 is now ready to enter the preview season. It concentrates on integrating the changes caused by kernel 2.6.27, init optimisations accomplished by insserv, and in particular overhauling the installer. ... Starting with this release, sidux is using "insserv" to reorder and optimise the SysV init scripts used during the system boot. Release highlights: Debian 'sid' as of 2008-12-14; Linux kernel 2.6.27.9 (SMP, hard pre-emption); X.Org 7.3; KDE 3.5.10; new SVG-based art theme." Read the rest of the release notes for more details.
