Development Release: Guadalinex 5.0 RC1 |
| The first release candidate for Guadalinex 5.0, a Spanish Ubuntu-based distribution developed by the regional government of Andalucía, is ready for testing. Released to commemorate today's worldwide Software Freedom Day, this is the project's first version that comes on two CDs - an installable live CD with essential applications and an optional CD with extra software packages. Some of the other changes from earlier betas: support for installing the system directly from the GRUB boot menu without having to boot into the live CD first; an option to create a bootable USB device from the live CD; new selection of applications, easier and more powerful; 3D desktop effects (where supported by the graphics card). Please read the full release announcement (in Spanish) for further information. Download (MD5) the installation/live CD from here: guadalinex-v5-rc1.iso (700MB). |
