Development Release: TinyMe 2008.1 Alpha 1 |
| K Dulcimer has announced the first alpha release of TinyMe 2008.1, a minimalist Linux distribution based on PCLinuxOS: "I am proud to announce the release of the first alpha for TinyMe 2008.1. TinyMe 2008.1 will be an effort to try to get TinyMe down to a bare-bones 150 MB ISO image. What will it have? Well, you'll be able to: boot up the live CD, log in to a graphical desktop environment, configure your system with the PCLinuxOS control center, install TinyMe to the hard drive, and install programs with Synaptic. From there it's left up to your imagination. Add your own applications and configure as you please. What's different in this test release? New 2.6.24.4 kernel; full update to PCLinuxOS testing repositories; stripped out a lot of programs." Read the rest of the release announcement for further details. Download: TinyMe-2008.1.alpha1.KD.i586.iso (169MB, MD5). |
