Development Release: Magic Linux 2.1 RC1 |
| After almost two and a half years' development, a release candidate of Magic Linux, a community distribution from China, is now ready for download and testing. Updates since beta 2 include: numerous upgraded packages like the Linux kernel, JRE, Firefox, K3b and lrcShow-II; amended packages of magic-system-config, initscripts, hal, and Amarok; some applications replaced with newly introduced packages for the sake of better user experience; added packages like lynx and kdegraphics-extras; new policy on kernels and USB automount; expanded Magic Linux depository. This release is available as a DVD edition, a cut down CD edition, and a live CD edition with a user account magiclinux:linuxfans and a superuser account root:magicfans.
