Development Release: Zenwalk Linux 5.2 Beta |
| Jean-Philippe Guillemin has announced the first beta release of Zenwalk Linux 5.2: "The long awaited Zenwalk 5.2 is out in beta. It has been four months since the last release and it's time to brush off the packages. What's new? The package manager, netpkg 'new generation' v4, has been completely rewritten in Perl-GTK and several new features have been added, making this already great application even greater. MPlayer is provided with the latest dvdnav (DVD menus support). Powerthend adds CPU scaling daemon and control script. The suspend and resume system has been improved. What's updated? As usual for each release, the desktop has been refreshed with new artwork. Almost all packages have been updated or rebuilt, including the Linux kernel 2.6.25.4 and Xfce 4.4.2. The update also takes care of a number of security fixes." Here is the full release announcement. Download: zenwalk-5.2BETA.iso (507MB, MD5). |
