Development Release: Linux Mint 5.0 Beta 1 |
| Clement Lefebvre has announced the availability of the first development release of Linux Mint 5.0, code name "Elyssa" and based on the recently released Ubuntu 8.04: "After many sleepless nights and a lot of work, I am delighted to announce that the first release candidate for Linux Mint 5 'Elyssa' was released and that it is now available for download." What's new? A long list of miscellaneous improvements to mintMenu, mintUpdate and mintInstall; various feature enhancements on the GNOME desktop, performance improvements through reduced memory usage; improved look and feel; more available software; changes in default software selection (Transmission, Rhythmbox, Brasero...); upstream improvements.
