NEW • Development Release: Parsix GNU/Linux 1.5r0 Test 1 |
| Alan Baghumian announced the release of the first test version of Parsix GNU/Linux 1.5r0, a desktop distribution from Iran based on Debian and derived from KANOTIX: "The first testing version of the brand new version of Parsix GNU/Linux 1.5 (code name 'Viola') is available now. Viola TEST-1 contains a new kernel, many updated software packages and several fixes for the reported defects. This version is synchronized with Parsix and Debian testing repositories as of April 18, 2008. Several bugs have been solved (#101, #102, #103, #105, #106), replaced GQView with EOG image viewer, removed bug-buddy, gdb and iptraf to make more free space. Highlights: GNOME 2.22.1, Linux kernel 2.6.24.4 with CK, TuxOnIce 3.0-RC5, iwlwifi 1.2.23 with led support and powertop patches, updated several kernel drivers, OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 and GNU Iceweasel 2.0.0.12. We need your help to test the system and report bugs." Read the release announcement and release notes for more.
