Distribution Release: Momonga Linux 4.1 |
| The Momonga Project has announced the release of Momonga Linux 4.1, a Fedora-based distribution made in Japan. This release represents a revision, or a security and bug-fix update, with most of the base system remaining unchanged from version 4. However, the kernel has been updated to version 2.6.23 and so were a few more visible desktop and server applications. Other changes include the addition of Fastladder (an open source edition of the Livedoor RSS Reader), FALF Player (a music player for KDE), Tasty Menu for KDE, Drupal, LZMA compression support and other features. Please read the release announcement (in Japanese) for more details. A variety of CD and DVD images are available for download, including installation and live DVDs with either GNOME or KDE, minimal installation CDs, rescue CDs and VMware images for both the i386 and x86_64 architectures. Quick links to the installation DVDs with GNOME: Momonga-4.1-GNOME-i686.iso (3,361MB, SHA1), Momonga-4.1-GNOME-x86_64.iso (3,364MB, SHA1). |

| About Momonga |
| Momonga Linux is a Linux distribution developed in a "bazaar" model style among its user community. Why momonga? you may wonder... A momonga (aka Pteromys momonga) is a flying squirrel found both in Europe and Asia. It's an animal known for a self-asserting behaviour, despite its small size. We, at the Momonga Project, like the momonga, may be small and not well-known, but we do express ourselves without fear or favour, so hopefully a new user can feel our enthusiasm and belief from the Momonga Linux. Also, an installer for Momonga Linux is also called momonga. Taking over its name, it does the job quickly and efficiently, just like a momonga. |
