Development Release: linuX-gamers Live DVD 0.9.1 |
| The linuX-gamers.net project has announced the availability of an updated release of the linuX-gamers live DVD, a specialist gaming distribution based on Arch Linux: "The next release candidate of the linuX-gamers.net live DVD is available, the changes are: new games - Blobby2, Foobillard, gl-117, Neverball, Wesnoth, Warzone2100; removed RTCW:ET and TC:E due to licensing issues; NVIDIA driver can be easily installed when the video card was not detected correctly; speed-up of reading data from DVD." Here is the brief release announcement. Update: A bug-fix version 0.9.2 was released on 18 June; get it via BitTorrent: lg-live-0.9.2.iso (2,142MB, MD5).

| The linuX-gamers Live DVD is a bootable medium with a collection of popular 3D games. It contains both the NVIDIA and ATI proprietary Linux drivers and includes the following games: BzFLag, Enemy Territory, Glest, Nexuiz, Sauerbraten, Torcs, Tremulous, True Combat: Elite, Warsow and World of Padman. Although the live DVD is based on Arch Linux, it does not offer any desktop Linux functionality except gaming. |
