Development Release: openSUSE 10.2 Beta 2 |
| Andreas Jaeger has announced the second beta release of openSUSE 10.2: "I'm glad to announce the second beta of openSUSE 10.2 codename Basilisk Lizard. It contains a large number of enhancements and updates done by the open source community and Novell's development teams. For openSUSE Beta 2 we updated to OpenSync 0.20 and would ask for some testing by the community. I also like to ask you to test especially the following areas and report bugs: Bluetooth - openSUSE 10.2 contains a new Bluetooth stack; Xen; power management; Firefox 2.0; OpenOffice.org - version 2.0.4 is the current version and is available natively in 64-bit." More details in the release announcement. As usual, the CD/DVD images are available via BitTorrent or directly from openSUSE mirrors; quick links to the DVD torrents: openSUSE-10.2-Beta2-DVD-i386 (3.98GB), openSUSE-10.2-Beta2-DVD-x86_64 (3.99GB). |

| The openSUSE project is a community program sponsored by Novell. Promoting the use of Linux everywhere, this program provides free, easy access to openSUSE, a complete Linux distribution. The openSUSE project has three main goals: make openSUSE the easiest Linux for anyone to obtain and the most widely used Linux distribution; leverage open source collaboration to make openSUSE the world's most usable Linux distribution and desktop environment for new and experienced Linux users; dramatically simplify and open the development and packaging processes to make openSUSE the platform of choice for Linux developers and software vendors. |
