Distribution Release: INSERT 1.3.8 |
| The INSERT project has released a new version of Inside Security Rescue Toolkit, a Debian-based mini-distribution designed as a multi-functional, multi-purpose disaster recovery and network analysis system. INSERT 1.3.8 comes with the following changes and new features: "Most of the software packages and the Linux kernel (2.6.16.27) have been updated. Captive-NTFS was dropped in favour of NTFS-3G, which works faster and more reliable. This is the long awaited real NTFS write support for Linux. The downloadable Firefox is a 1.5.0.7 now. An install script for the virus scanner F-Prot (for home use) has been added." Read the release notes for a complete list of all changes and package updates. Download the English and German editions from here: INSERT-1.3.8_en.iso (58.1MB, MD5), INSERT-1.3.8_de.iso (58.1MB, MD5). |

| About INSERT |
| INSERT (Inside Security Rescue Toolkit) aims to be a multi-functional, multi-purpose disaster recovery and network analysis system. It runs from a credit card-sized CD-ROM for convenient transport or download and is basically a stripped-down version of Knoppix.
