| A new test build of the Red Hat-based redWall Firewall, version 1.2.1, has been released. What's new? "Kernel 2.6.15.4; udev device management (replaces the deprecated devfs); Unionfs based config (/etc) and data (/var) 'management'; Unionfs based root filesystem (read and write support) if enabled using 'union_root' as kernel boot parameter; completely rewritten save-config and restore-config mechanism; SSH stored configs (on a remote SSH enabled host); configs sent by email are now 'preformated' to be put on a floppy and work right away if booted from that floppy; the hard disk install script now supports 'USB Disk installs'...." | redWall Firewall is a bootable CD-ROM firewall based on Gentoo Linux. Its goal is to provide a feature-rich firewall solution together with a web-based interface for all the generated log files. redWall Firewall comes with Snort, SnortSam, DansGuardian and support for fwbuilder, SpamAssassin, reporting, VPN and mail alerts. Configuration files are stored on a floppy disk or a USB pen drive. |
