Distribution Release: SLAMPP 1.1 |
 |
SLAMPP is a Slackware-based Linux live CD designed primarily as a pre-configured home server, although it also includes a minimal set of desktop-oriented applications for office and multimedia use. The project's second stable version has been released: "I proudly announce the newest version of SLAMPP. This version contains some new applications, features and hopefully will fix the known bugs reported so far to me. Furthermore, I consider this release as a maintenance release over the previous one, so let's hope all things will run smoothly." Find more information about the project in the release announcement and on the distribution's home page. Download: slampp-1.1.iso (418MB, MD5); also available via BitTorrent. |

| About SLAMPP |
| SLAMPP is a Linux distribution which can boot and run directly from a DVD, with possibility to be installed onto hard disk. It is designed to be used as an instant home server. Just like other Linux live DVDs, SLAMPP makes it possible to test Linux without messing up the user's existing system. What makes SLAMPP different is the fact that it comes with pre-configured tools and applications that turn a personal computer into a home server. SLAMPP is built using Zenwalk Linux as its base and Slackware Linux for packages. |
