Distribution Release: INSERT 1.3.5 |
| A major new version of the Inside Security Rescue Toolkit (INSERT) has been released. From the release notes: "This is a major new release. INSERT now boots linux kernel 2.6.11.6; this should improve support for modern hardware (e.g. S-ATA) drastically. INSERT is now based on the release 3.8.2 of Knoppix, which means it uses UnionFS, making the complete system writable during execution. INSERT now uses the KDrive X-Servers (XVesa and XFbdev). This frees up a lot of space (approx 12MB) which in turn has been eaten up by the new kernel and loads of package updates. See the changelog for details. Due to the vast number of changes here again comes the plea to send bug reports and/or suggestions." Download: INSERT-1.3.5_de.iso (50.0MB, MD5) or INSERT-1.3.5_en.iso (50.0MB, MD5). |

| About INSERT |
| INSERT (Inside Security Rescue Toolkit) aims to be a multi-functional, multi-purpose disaster recovery and network analysis system. It runs from a credit card-sized CD-ROM for convenient transport or download and is basically a stripped-down version of Knoppix. INSERT provides full read-write support for NTFS-partitions using captive-ntfs. |
