Development Release: LormaLinux 2005 RC1 |
| The first release candidate of LormaLinux 2005 has been released: "Based on Fedora Core 3 optimized for i686 architecture, LormaLinux 2005 features extremely simple installation created for educational institution and workstation users on just 1 CD... Packages were carefully selected, evaluated and recompiled for i686 architecture, with the addition of packages that will make your LormaLinux experience a lot of fun." | LormaLinux is developed by the MIS Department of Lorma Colleges in the Philippines. It is built on top of Red Hat Linux - recompiled and optimized for the i686 computers, so it is faster and leaner. Perfect as a workstation and it comes on only 1 CD. It also contains software from the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) for setting up diskless workstations. It uses KDE for its desktop environment and is constantly being updated. LormaLinux is a full-featured Linux distribution specifically made for ease of use and functionality. |
