| The second beta of LormaLinux 2005 has been released: "Announcing LormaLinux 2005 beta 2 release. Now, you can download this new digitally remastered Fedora Core 3 installer. A one-disc LormaLinux 2005 beta2 release with all of your favorite application already installed by default, chock full of new software and exciting bonus features! Includes hundreds of new and updated packages over the beta release edition. Added packages:a minor change to the device model, switching from a static /dev to a dynamic /dev provided by udev; SELinux enabled; KDE 3.3.1; X.Org X11 6.8.1; Xine multimedia player; WINE - Windows emulator for Windows applications...." | LormaLinux is developed by the MIS Department of Lorma Colleges in the Philippines. It is built on top of Red Hat Linux - recompiled and optimized for the i686 computers, so it is faster and leaner. Perfect as a workstation and it comes on only 1 CD. It also contains software from the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) for setting up diskless workstations. It uses KDE for its desktop environment and is constantly being updated. LormaLinux is a full-featured Linux distribution specifically made for ease of use and functionality. |
