Distribution Release: Feather Linux 0.7 |
| A new major upgrade to Feather Linux has been released. From the changelog: "Feather is now bound by a 128MB limit instead of a 64MB one; added Firefox, Thunderbird, AbiWord, Ethereal, GAIM, rox-filer, MPlayer, IceWM, Siag Office, Imposter, wmDrawer and fireFTP; updated tmsnc to 0.1.4, ndiswrapper to 0.12, Fluxbox to 0.9.10, Dillo to 0.8.3, OpenOffice.org script to 1.1.3; updated Java script; added xls2csv, a program to convert Excel files into CSV spreadsheets; added script to download and install LT modem drivers; added script to configure ndiswrapper; added webcam support (this includes webcamd and xawtv); removed Mutella and links-hacked." | Feather Linux is a Linux distribution which runs completely off a CD or a USB pendrive and takes up under 128MB of space. It is a Knoppix remaster (based on Debian), and tries to include software which most people would use every day on their desktop. |
