A pre-release version of BeatrIX 2005.1 is now available: "Introducing BeatrIX 2005.1. BeatrIX 2005.1 1PR represents more than 16 months of research and work by us and we hope it shows. This is a test release of our final version, which is due out in January. For those of you just joining us, we are a Debian/Ubuntu distribution, with a Knoppix bootloader and a customised installation script. BeatrIX is an under-200MB distribution that is nothing but the basics - but the best-of-breed basics: kernel 2.6.7,GNOME 2.8, Firefox 1.0 with AdBlock, Evolution 2.0, OpenOffice.org 1.1.2, APT, GAIM, Beep music player.
