Development Release: GNOPPIX Linux 2.12 Beta |

The GNOPPIX project has released an Ubuntu-based live CD with a preview release of Gnome 2.12: "The GNOPPIX project proudly presents the first beta release of version 2.12 of the GNOPPIX Linux live CD. This version comes with Gnome 2.12, updates and lot of improvements. Gnoppix 2.12 beta1 is available in four languages: German, English, French and Hindi." You can find the full release announcement on the project's home page. Please note that the CD does not contain the final version of GNOME 2.12, but rather an earlier beta preview. Download: gnome-livecd-2.12-i386-en-5.iso (630MB, MD5). The French, German and Hindi ISO images can be found in this directory, while BitTorrent trackers are available here.

The developers of the Ubuntu-based Gnoppix project have released the first stable version of their live CD: "The Gnoppix project presents version 1.0 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. Gnoppix 1.0 can be downloaded for the Intel i386 platform here. PowerPC and AMD64 platforms will be ready soon. Gnoppix 1.0 comes with GNOME 2.10." Besides Gnoppix 1.0, a development build based on a snapshot of Ubuntu "Breezy Badger" and featuring a preview version of GNOME 2.11 has also been released.

Another beta release of the Gnoppix 0.8.1 live CD is now available for download and testing: "The Gnoppix project proudly presents the ninth beta release of version 0.8.1 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. A new beta version of the Gnoppix live CD has been released. This version includes the very latest GNOME 2.8 as packaged by the developers of Ubuntu Linux: "The Gnoppix Project is pleased to announce Gnoppix 0.8.1b7. Gnoppix 0.8.1x-Series comes with GNOME 2.8 and Linux kernel 2.6. Please note that this is still a beta which comes without an installer. The final release is expected soon."
