NEW • Development Release: LRs Linux 0.3.1rc1 |
| A first release candidate of the upcoming LRs Linux 0.3.1 has been released: "The next release 0.3.1 IggY is now out. It includes a lot of new features within the IDUM package which are: upgrade - download the latest IDUM database if a newer version is available; list-newer - will attempt to list all packages that are newer than those already installed on your system. Also the new release will have the latest version of Gnome 2 and KDE 3.1 as well as Kernel 2.4.20, GCC 3.2.1 and many more new packages." | LRs-Linux is based upon Linux From Scratch (LFS). In contrast to LFS and most common distros, LRs Linux has the ability to compile directly from the CD. This means that binaries can be natively compiled for the target host during the install, enhancing the performance of the resultant system. The install process is largely automated. |
