NEW • Development Release: Yoper Linux 3.1 Beta |
| Tobias Gerschner has announced the availability of the first beta release of Yoper Linux 3.1, an i686 optimised desktop Linux distribution: "The Yoper team is proud to announce that Yoper Linux 3.1 is close to completion. This release ships with Linux kernel 2.6.23, X.Org 7.3, KDE 3.5.9, KOffice 1.6.3, Firefox 2.0.0.14 and a vast range of other cutting-edge desktop packages. Of course, there are other desktop environments available, including Fluxbox, Xfce and KDE 4. The sole remaining task is a refined desktop look. We hope to see many contributions from users to help us to define the new look for a fast, powerful and slick desktop. There has been a vast amount of changes. The most user visible changes are the integration of the ARK Linux security concept and the clear separation of desktop environments." Read the rest of the release notes for further information.
