NEW • Development Release: NetBSD 4.0 RC5 |
| Manuel Bouyer has announced the availability of the fifth release candidate for NetBSD 4.0: "On behalf of the NetBSD Release Engineering team, I am happy to announce the availability of NetBSD 4.0 Release Candidate 5. This release candidate has several bug fixes and other changes since the previous release candidate - RC4. Most important bug fixes are: a bug that could prevent hpcmips from booting has been fixed; aac(4) is now fully supported on amd64; a bug in the st(4) driver that could cause a kernel panic or data corruption on tape error has been fixed; a bug that would cause kernel panic with lfs has been fixed; com*/lpt* at acpi has been removed from GENERIC kernels, so that the on-board com(4) and lpt(4) ports will be at their traditional locations." See the release announcement and changelog for a more detailed list of changes. As usual, ISO images for a variety of architectures are available from these NetBSD mirrors; quick links to the i386 and x86_64 CD images: i386cd.iso (242MB), amd64cd.iso (166MB). |
