NEW • Development Release: JackLab Audio Distribution 1.0 Beta 2 |
| The JackLab project has announced the second beta release of JackLab Audio Distribution (JAD) 1.0, a Linux distribution combining an openSUSE base system with the Enlightenment 17 window manager to provide a complete operating system for musicians, producers and media creators: "Today, the JAD developers released the second BETA version of their JackLab Audio Distribution for interested BETA testers. JAD 1.0 is based on openSUSE 10.2, but was adjusted to suit the requirements of the creative user. For music applications the real-time kernel 2.6.19 provides a low latency JACK audio system. The 1.4 GB installation DVD offers about 80 applications covering the audio sector with full VST and multimedia codecs support.
