NEW • Development Release: PCLinuxOS 2007 Test 3 |
| The third development release of PCLinuxOS 2007 is out: "PCLinuxOS 2007 Test Release 3 is now available for download and testing. The kernel has been finalized, applications updated and various issues cleared. Some additional cosmetic changes applied based on user feedback from our Test 2 release. In addition 2007 is DST ready. Progress but not perfection...yet. What's new? The kernel has been finalized and updated on the live CD. This kernel (2.6.18.6) supports up to 4 GB of memory and is SMP aware. Many applications were updated on the live CD, including Firefox 2.0.0.2, Scribus and a new build of OpenOffice.org with more international support. The KDM login manager was updated and now supports user selection from menu instead of having to type your name and password." Visit the project's download page to read the full release announcement. The CD image is available from here: livecd-TR3.iso (690MB, MD5). |

| About PCLinuxOS |
| PCLinuxOS is an English only live CD initially based on Mandrake Linux that runs entirely from a bootable CD. Data on the CD is decompressed on the fly, allowing up to 2GB of programs on one CD including a complete X server, KDE desktop, OpenOffice.org and many more applications all ready to use. In addition to the live CD, you can also install PCLinuxOS to your hard drive with an easy-to-use livecd-installer. Additional applications can be added or removed from your hard drive using a friendly apt-get front end via Synaptic. |
