NEW • Distribution Release: BeatrIX Linux 2005.1 |
| The developers of the BeatrIX live CD have released the final version of BeatrIX Linux 2005.1: "BeatrIX Linux 2005.1 Final represents more than 19 months' work by three programmers, and input from hundreds of users. It is a Debian/Ubuntu derivative, and tracks the Ubuntu repository. It was designed from the ground-up with the end user in mind. What's included: kernel 2.6.7 - this is a modified version of our pre-release kernel; GNOME 2.8.1 - it is eminently different than older versions of GNOME; Firefox 1.0 with AdBlock; Evolution 2.0.1; OpenOffice.org 1.1.2; apt; new dial-up modem support; GAIM." More details in the release announcement. Download: BeatrIX_2005.1F.iso (182MB); alternatively, a BitTorrent tracker is also available.
